Style 190 Pro-Pack™ Metalic Packing with Kevlar®

Style 190 has as it's center core a plastic metallic packing which has been a most successful bulk packing for years . The braided form has a built in lubrication that keeps the Kevlar® jacket well lubricated at all times. In addition the jacket itself is lubricated with Teflon® and Silicone type lubricants.

Because of this built-in lubrication, Pro-Pack™ Braided Metallic Packing will not dry out or become hard and brittle, as will many of the braided packings now on the market.

Because of it's extreme pliability, Pro-Pack™ Braided Metallic Packing makes it possible to attain a much better seal even in the case of a worn or scored shaft and allows a greater leniency in stuffing box size. That is, the packing can be tamped down or molded so that one size can be made to fit several stuffing box sizes, which cannot be done with the conventional types of braided packings. This reduces materially the number of sizes that need to be carried in stock.

Additionally the strong Kevlar® jacket makes this packing ideal for harsh, abrasive conditions on shafts, valves, pumps and cylinders.

Consider these advantages:

A.) Easy to install and easy to remove.

B.) Pliable-flexible design to give you a perfect seal even where the shafts are worn or scored.

C.) Provides excellent lubrication-prevents binding and protects your shafts from damage and wear.

D.) Retains its lubricity at all times-will not dry out or become hard and brittle, as is the case with many other

braided packings.

E.) Due to its flexible construction Pro-Pack ™ Braided Metallic Packing automatically conforms to the

shape and size of the stuffing box. Therefore you need carry only a few sizes in stock while at the same time

being assured of as perfect a packing as if you were using a high priced close tolerance packing.

F.) Recommended temperature limit is 550°F.

G.) Shaft speed is 2500 FPM.

H.) pH range 3-11.

1.) Pressure to 600 PSI.

J.) Available in bulk.

Die Formed Rings

Because of the friction along the shaft and bore of the stuffing box, the mechanical pressure exerted by the gland is not transmitted uniformly across all the rings. In conventional packing methods, the first two rings absorb most of the mechanical pressure; therefore, they receive the most wear, and in turn, exert the most wear on the shaft. In fact, 70% of the wear takes place here. But, with Pro-Pack™ Die-Formed Rings, the mechanical pressure is exerted over a larger area; therefore, greatly increasing shaft sleeve life.

Die-Formed Rings are easier to install because the size is exact. Also, because Die-Formed Rings are densified, ''run-in'' time is greatly reduced and sealability is much better resulting in longer packing and sleeve life. Thanks to Pro-Pack™ Die-Formed Rings, your production is up and your costs are down.
