Style 422 Tallow Wax Flax
CONSTRUCTION: Square Braid.
TREATMENT: Lubricated with a pure edible tallow and wax compound, ungraphited.
LIMITATIONS: Temperatures to 220°F, pH 6-8, shaft speed 1885 FPM.
EQUIPMENT AND USES: Reciprocating and rotary shafts, plungers, hydraulic rams, and stern tubes. Use on brine, cold water, cold oil, high shaft speeds, and high pressure rams and accumulators.
FEATURES: Medium line flax fibers.
Style 424 TFE Flax
CONSTRUCTION: Square Braid.
TREATMENT: Impregnated with TFE dispersion and a special break-in oil.
LIMITATIONS: Temperatures to 220°F/104°C, pH 6-8, speeds to 1885 FPM, PV factor 175,000.
EQUIPMENT AND USES: Reciprocating and rotating shafts. Stern tubes, paper mill applications include Jordan, Claflins, hydrofiners and stock pumps.
FEATURES: All tow, bark, coarse and short fibers have been removed. Highest quality long line flax roving.
REMARKS: TFE impregnant acts as: (1) a surface leveler filling any surface voids (2) a saturant to prevent wicking (3) a lubricant to prevent friction and heat (4) a protective shield around the flax fibers, preventing fluid penetration and fiber break down. An excellent paper stock packing. Use whenever product discoloration must be prevented, such as in the food and bleached paper industries.
